Services

Know where the business stands, all year.

We keep your books, send you management reports and prepare your year-end financial statements. We agree the schedule before we start.

What's included

The books, kept properly.

Your books stay up to date and reconciled (checked against your bank, loan and card statements). They are ready for whoever asks to see them.

  • Bookkeeping. We code each transaction (each payment in or out) and keep the books up to date. The numbers make sense on the day you look at them.
  • Reconciliations. We check your bank, loan and credit card accounts each month or quarter. The ledger (the record of every transaction) matches what is in the account.
  • Management reports. Every month or quarter you get a profit and loss and a balance sheet. The profit and loss shows what you earned and spent. The balance sheet shows what you own and owe. We also tell you what has changed since last time, in plain terms.
  • Year-end financial statements. These are the accounts for the full year. We prepare them in line with Australian accounting standards. They are ready for your tax return, a lender or a buyer.
  • Cloud accounting. This is bookkeeping software you use online. We work in Xero. If you are on a spreadsheet or another system, we help you move across and set it up cleanly.
  • A schedule agreed up front. We agree monthly or quarterly and put it in writing before work starts. Then we stick to it.
  • Someone to ask. One accountant knows your file. Ask them a question on the numbers and they answer the same day.

Who it's for

Owners who want the numbers before they need them.

This suits owners who make decisions all year rather than only at the end of it.

Owner-run businesses

You run the business day to day. Each month you want to know if it made money, who owes you and what you owe, with no surprise at tax time.

Businesses outgrowing the spreadsheet

The bookkeeping has become a weekend job for someone with better things to do. You want it done in proper software by people who do it every day.

Businesses that need figures others can rely on

A lender, a partner or the ATO (the tax office) has asked for financial statements. You want them right the first time, and matching the reconciled books.

How it works

Three steps, then the books run on time.

No work starts until we agree the scope (what we do) and the price in writing.

  1. A conversation

We talk for thirty minutes about how the books are kept now and which software you use. We also ask how far behind they are, and what you want to see each month.

  2. A fixed scope in writing

We set out which accounts we reconcile and which reports you get. We say whether it is monthly or quarterly, and what it costs. You agree it before any work starts.

  3. The same team all year

One person who knows your file keeps the books each month or quarter. You can ask a question on the numbers by phone, text or WhatsApp.
